Eye Said So is an Austin, TX-based “schizo-rock” duo blending alternative rock, punk, industrial, alt-metal, pop, and hip-hop into a sound that defies categories. Their latest album, In The Woods Lurks Who?, stands as their boldest and most personal project yet, an experimental hip-hop/rock hybrid featuring the legendary Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Warcloud aka The Holocaust.
The project was born during a turbulent period. Founding member Sach was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in 2024 and began crafting songs while undergoing treatment. At the same time, Eye Said So finally connected with eccentric Wu-Tang affiliate Warcloud, an artist long admired for his surreal wordplay and singular style. Together with Wu-Tang Killa Beez peer Christ Bearer of NorthStar, they recorded verses that fused raw rock energy with Warcloud’s esoteric lyricism.
By December 2024, Sach had been declared cancer-free, but tragedy struck when Warcloud (Anthony Creston Brown) passed away unexpectedly. Left with a vault of verses, ideas, and recordings, Eye Said So completed In The Woods Lurks Who? as both a creative triumph and a tribute.
The album title, drawn from the opening bars of the lead track, reflects the record’s spirit: a strange journey into the unknown. It is as much a celebration of survival as it is a memorial for a lost collaborator, an unpredictable, genre-breaking release that embodies the restless creativity behind Eye Said So’s “schizo-rock” ethos.
